El arte puede mostrar significados muy concretos y literales.La gente entiende representaciones realistas de cosas de la vida real.Debido a que el arte se utiliza como una vÃa de expresión emocional, mucha gente siente una conexión al admirar el arte. Algunas personas pueden sentirse atraÃdas por el arte y no sentir ninguna conexión. Al igual que cualquier habilidad, el arte requiere práctica para aprender y, con experiencia, las personas generalmente encuentran un estilo de arte que los complementa mejor fÃsicamente, emocionalmente o tal vez ambos. Aprender qué tipo de arte le atrae y qué tipo de arte conlleva el mayor significado para usted.Por ejemplo, cuando miro el arte de Francisco Goya, siento esta conexión de emociones poderosas. Por ejemplo, en la pintura, Saturno devorando a su hijo, la mayorÃa de los admiradores pueden comprender un mensaje muy profundo de miedo y oscuridad.
Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes (1746-1828) es considerado como el artista español más importante de fines del siglo XVIII y principios del siglo XIX, cuyas pinturas, dibujos y grabados reflejaron agitaciones históricas contemporáneas e influyeron en importantes pintores de los siglos XIX y XX. Pinturas Negras es el nombre dado a un grupo de catorce pinturas de Francisco Goya de los últimos años de su vida, entre 1819 y 1823. Representan temas intensos e inquietantes, que reflejan tanto su miedo a la locura como su sombrÃa perspectiva de la humanidad. Originalmente fueron decorados en la Quinta del Sordo. Fueron pintados al óleo en las paredes de dos habitaciones, en la planta baja y primer piso, y transferidos a lienzo en 1873. Entre las 14 pinturas, dos de sus pinturas más profundas son El perro y Saturno devorando a su hijo.
El Perro es el nombre que se le da una pintura de Francisco Goya, ahora situado en el Museo del Prado, en Madrid. Muestra la cabeza de un perro pequeño que mira hacia arriba. El perro en sà mismo está casi perdido en la inmensidad del resto de la imagen, que está vacÃa a excepción de un área oscura inclinada cerca de la parte inferior de la imagen. Hay muchas interpretaciones de esta pintura. Suponiendo que el cuerpo del perro está cortado, puede sugerir que el perro es un sÃmbolo del abandono y negligencia. Parece que el retrato representa las emociones de Francisco de Goya después de su misteriosa enfermedad que lo dejó completamente sordo. La conexión entre su vida y sus pinturas y cómo se relacionan es visible. Mientras que Saturno devorando a su hijo podrÃa ser el más famoso de los cuadros negros, El Perro es ciertamente el más enigmático de la serie. Júpiter creció más tarde para matar a su padre y tomar su trono. El retrato es algo confuso y el significado de esta imagen ha sido un misterio. Algunos expertos en arte creen que puede simbolizar el estado autocrático español, devorando a sus propios ciudadanos. Otros interpretan a Saturno como la Revolución Francesa o incluso como Napoleón. Sin embargo, debido a que Goya no escribió sobre estas obras y nunca tuvo la intención de que se exhiban en público, sus verdaderas intenciones siguen siendo un misterio.

Because art is used as an avenue of emotional expression, many people feel a sense of connection when admiring art. Some people may be attracted to art and feel no connection at all. Like any skill- appreciating art takes practice to learn and with experience people generally find an art style that compliments them best physically, emotionally or perhaps both. You will learn what kinds of art you are attracted to and what kind of art entails the most meaning for you. For instance, when I look at Francisco Goya’s art, I feel this connection of powerful emotions.For example,in the painting, Saturn devouring his son,a very profound message of fear and darkness can be understood by most admirers.

Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes (1746–1828) is considered as the most important Spanish artist of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries whose paintings, drawings, and engravings reflected contemporary historical upheavals and influenced important 19th- and 20th-century painters. The Black Paintings is the name given to a group of fourteen paintings by Francisco Goya from the later years of his life, between 1819 and 1823. They portray intense, haunting themes, reflective of both his fear of insanity and his bleak outlook on humanity. They were originally decorated at the Quinta del Sordo (House of the Deaf Man). They were painted in oils on the walls of two rooms, on the ground floor and first floor, and transferred to canvas in 1873. Amongst the 14 paintings, two of the deepest paintings of his are the, The dog and Saturn devouring his son.
​The dog is the name given to a painting by Francisco Goya which is situated in the Museo del Prado in Madrid. It shows the head of a small dog looking upwards. The dog itself is almost lost in the vastness of the rest of the image, which is empty except for a dark sloping area near the bottom of the picture. There are many interpretations of this painting. Assuming the dog's body is chopped off may suggest that the dog is a symbol of the abandonment and the neglect. It appears that the portrait represents Francisco de Goya’s emotions after his mysterious illness that left him completely deaf. The connection between his life and his paintings and how they relate to each other is visible. Whereas, Saturn devouring his son might be the most famous of the Black Paintings, The dog is certainly the series’ most enigmatic. Although his portraits are images of despair and hopelessness that most may find to be disturbing, they’re quite remarkable.
The most famous and horrific painting in the Black Paintings group is Saturn devouring his son. It depicts a giant male figure, naked, long-haired, bearded and wild-eyed, holding a headless, adult male body up to his mouth with two hands. The giant figure is in the process of eating this smaller figure. Saturn devouring his son is based on the Greek myth of the titan Saturn who, according to prophecy, was going to be overthrown by one of his sons. This painting, in reality, depicts the evolution of King Saturn into a demon of his own making. His thirst for power led him to murder his own children, again and again, until his wife finally decided to hide one, Jupiter, away on the small island of Crete. Jupiter later grew up to kill his father and take his throne.The portrait is somewhat confusing and the meaning of this picture has been a mystery. Some art experts believe that it may symbolize the autocratic Spanish state, devouring its own citizens. Others interpret Saturn as the French Revolution or even Napoleon. The representation of a human’s own demise as his greed changes him is highlighted so tragically. The human doesn’t realize it, but in reality, the greed is devouring him to the point where he stops becoming himself and turns unrecognizable, even to himself. I like this painting because it is very mysterious and profund with a lot of history. Also, I like this piece of work because it allows individuals to perceive and interpret various meanings. However, because Goya did not write about these works and never intended for them to be displayed in public, his true intentions remain a mystery.
