El día que la vea la voy a matar – Guillermo Fadanelli
“¿A quien le debo explicaciones? A mí mismo, al que no se tolera.” Este extracto es de un Tweet que fue escrito por Guillermo Fadanelli el once de septiembre de este año pasado. Para comenzar, esto nos puede dar una pequeña idea de la mente del escritor. Es evidente que en la vida de un autor, de 57 años, la opinión más importante es su propia opinión. Fadanelli es un hombre de la Ciudad de México quien escribe literatura satírica y belicosa. Sus obras muestran lo feo en el mundo con una actitud de reconocimiento más bien que ignorancia. Específicamente, en los relatos que yo leí, las cuentos cortas son muy obscuros. Parece que tiene una obsesión con el suicidio y la muerte en esta obra. Guillermo Fadanelli es un escritor sin límites que quiere explorar el mundo tabú.
Yo he leído el primer libro que fue publicado por Guillermo Fadanelli, llamado, “El día que la vea la voy a matar.” En este caso, es fácil juzgar el libro por la cubierta. Inmediatamente, ideas de muerte y matanza son traído a la superficie. En estas historias cortas, Fadanelli normaliza la muerte y el suicidio dándole poca importancia a las ocasiones. Por ejemplo, uno de los relatos es llamado “Macabeos” y es un cuento de siete suicidios diferentes. Normalmente, el suicidio es un tema grave y muy serio, pero en estos párrafos cortos, no hay mucha importancia dada a cada persona y su vida. Fadanelli simplemente comparte la edad de la persona, donde vive, lo que les gusta hacer, y un poco de información sobre su familia. Combinado con todo esto, es la forma en que se suicidan. No hay explicación de por qué quieren suicidarse y aspectos negativos de sus vidas no son listados. Solo hay el hecho que están cometiendo suicidio. La salud mental es otro enfoque común también. Fadanelli se asegura minimizar el énfasis en suicidarse. En estos relatos, también hay un cuento sobre el suicidio. Esta obra es llamada “Suicidio en la calle de Tacuba.” Esto es una historia sobre un hombre que está de pie sobre una cornisa y ha traído una multitud en la calle. Esta multitud fue hecha de la policía, la gente corriente, y el protagonista. Normalmente, un esperaría la multitud querer ayudar el hombre, pero en este caso fue muy diferente. La gente decía cosas como “¡Si te vas a tirar, hazlo de una vez; aquí hay gente que tiene cosas que hacer!” Esto demuestra que, a la multitud, esto solo era un acto de algo interesante en vez de un acto de tomar una vida. No les importaba si el hombre muere o vive. Fadanelli hace como si el hombre estuviera buscando atención. Las historias de Guillermo Fadanelli son muy obscuras, pero hablan de cosas que nadie quiere hablar. Este tipo de literatura se incluye en una categoría nueva llamada “literatura basura”. Este tipo de literatura reconoce al mundo tabú y a cosas que son incomodo a discutir, pero son reales. Esto es importante para comprender todos los aspectos de la vida diaria.
Al leer el libro, yo tuve que tomar unos descansos porque algunas cosas eran tan oscuras. Pero, me gustó que Fadanelli no tenía miedo de hablar sobre cualquier cosa. Fue refrescante leer sobre la vida real y no algún tipo de fantasía de amor. En algunos tiempos, estuve asqueada con las imágenes que fueron creadas en mi mente por el escritor. En mi opinión, estos relatos fueron diseñados para gente con mentes abstractas y que pueden explorar cosas fuera de lo normal. Guillermo Fadanelli trabaja en crear un libro que desafía la norma social y lo logra.
The Day that I See Her, I will Kill Her – Guillermo Fadanelli
“To whom do I owe my explanations? To myself, in which is not tolerated.” This excerpt is from a Tweet that was written by Guillermo Fadanelli on the eleventh of September this past year. To start, this can give us a small idea of the mind of the writer. It is evident that in the life of this 57-year-old author, the opinion that is most important is his own. Fadanelli is a man from Mexico City who writes satirical and bellicose literature. His works demonstrate the ugliness in the world with an attitude of acknowledgement rather than ignorance. Specifically, in the work that I have read, the short stories are very dark. It seems that he is obsessed with suicide and death in this specific work. Guillermo Fadanelli is a writer without boundaries that wants to explore the tabooed world.
I have read the first published book written by Guillermo Fadanelli, called, “The Day that I See Her, I will Kill Her.” In this case, it is easy to judge a book by its cover. Immediately, ideas of death and killing are brought to the surface. In these short stories, Fadanelli normalizes death and suicide by giving little importance to these occasions. For example, one of the stories is called “Macabees” and is a story of seven different suicides. Normally, suicide is a grave topic and very serious, but in these short paragraphs, there isn’t much importance given to each person and their life. Fadanelli simply shares the age of the person, where they live, what they like to do, and a little about their family. Combined with all this, is the way they kill themselves. There is not an explanation as to why they kill themselves and negatives aspects of their lives are not listed. There is only the mere fact that they are committing suicide. Mental health is another common focus in these stories. Fadanelli makes sure to minimize the emphasis in killing oneself. In these stories, there is another that covers the aspect of suicide. This work is called “Suicide in the street of Tacuba.” This is a story about a man who is standing on a ledge and has brought about a crowd in the street. This crowd was made up of police, common people, and the protagonist. Normally, one would expect the crowd to want to help the man, but this case was different. The people said things like “If you’re going to jump, do it at once; there are people who have things to do!” This shows that, to the crowd, it was only an act of entertainment for them rather than an act of taking a life. It didn’t matter to them whether the man lived or died. Fadanelli made it that the man was looking for attention from others. The stories of Guillermo Fadanelli are very dark, but talk about things that no one wants to talk about. This type of literature is included in a new category called “trash literature.” This is literature that looks at the taboo world and at things that are uncomfortable to discuss, but are real. It is important to understand all aspects of daily life.
As I read this book, I had to take a few breaks because some things were so dark. But, I liked that Fadanelli isn’t afraid to speak about anything. It was refreshing to read about reality in life and not some type of love fantasy. At some times, I was disgusted with the images that were created in my mind by the writer. In my opinion, these stories were intended for people with abstract minds and those who can explore things outside of the normal. Guillermo Fadanelli works to create a book that challenges societal norm and he accomplishes this.
